Khala ('wicked') Parivartana is the inverse of Maha Parivartana: an exchange involving a dushtana-house lord. The 6/8/12 lords carry classical difficulty, and when they enter Other houses through exchange, they bring that difficulty with them while taking the other house's lord into their own (still difficult) territory.
The classical reading is structural friction in the two houses involved. A 6th-7th Khala Parivartana, for example, brings 6th-house difficulty (conflict, illness, service-relationships) into the marriage house, and brings the marriage house's nature into the 6th — producing partnerships marked by recurring conflict and relationships of service that resemble partnerships.
Modern practitioners read Khala Parivartana as one of the more interesting affliction yogas because the structural friction it describes is often subtle and persistent rather than dramatic. The yoga rewards conscious attention.

Khala Parivartana Yoga is classified as challenging in the classical tradition. It describes a structural friction pattern that asks for conscious work — not a verdict, but a domain to be aware of.
