The six methods

Calibrate runs each life event you supply through every method in parallel. Each method outputs a confidence score (0-10) for how clearly its signals would have predicted that event happening when it did. We aggregate across your events and rank the methods. The methodology is symmetric — no method is privileged; no method is downweighted; the ranking falls out of how each actually performs against your life.

The math, briefly
How the score gets computed
- Event input.You enter 3-5 dated life events. Each event has a date (precision: day) and a theme tag (career, relational, health, family, financial, mobility, creative, loss). Five events is the recommended minimum for high-confidence ranking; Calibrate explicitly warns when you’re below it.
- Method evaluation. For each event, each of the six methods is run with your natal chart as input and the event date as the target. Each method outputs the activations that would have been visible at that moment — transit hits, profected lord activations, dasha-sub-dasha lord changes, releasing periods, progressed aspects, solar arc directions.
- Theme matching.Each activation has a known karaka or signification (Mars = surgery/conflict; 7th house = partnership; Saturn = constraint/structure). The score for an event is how strongly the activated significators match the event’s theme.
- Aggregation. Per method, we average the per-event scores. We surface the rankings, the score gap between methods, and the per-event breakdown so you can see not just which method won, but where it agreed and where it diverged from the others.
- Saved lens. The top-ranked method is saved to your account as your calibrated lens. Every subsequent Ask Your Chart query is run through that lens by default.

Case A · Career-pivot client, Toronto
Western-trained client, six dated career events from age 24-37. Calibrate ranked Vimshottari Dasha #1 (composite score 8.4/10), Zodiacal Releasing #2, Western Transits #5. Two of the dated events landed inside Saturn-sub-Mercury antardashas; both were major chapter shifts. The client had spent eight years on transits and progressions; switching their reading lens to Vedic dasha made the next prediction actually call the timing.

Case B · Relational + health, Mumbai
Vedic-trained client, four life events including marriage, two career changes, and a chronic illness onset. Calibrate ranked Profections #1 (8.9/10), Vimshottari Dasha #2, Solar Arc #4. The illness onset landed exactly on the year a 6th-house profection activated, with the year-lord Mars under affliction in the natal — neither Vedic dasha nor Western transits scored that event clearly. Result: the client kept Vedic for relational timing, switched to Hellenistic profections for health and yearly framing.

Case C · Three-event small sample, Berlin
Skeptical client, only three datable events — a move, a parent's death, and a creative breakthrough. Calibrate explicitly flagged the small-sample warning (we recommend five for high confidence) but still produced a useful ranking: Zodiacal Releasing #1 with 7.1/10, Western Transits #2 at 6.8. The Lot-of-Spirit period boundary landed within four days of the creative breakthrough date. The client paid for the bundled Calibrate + Ask flow and the first read-through with their newly-calibrated method called the question they came in with.

Why no one else does this
Calibration requires three things together
- An arcsecond-grade ephemeris with all the methods built in. VSOP87D + ELP2000, full Vedic + Hellenistic + Western support under one engine. Most consumer astrology apps run on shortcuts; most pro-tier desktop tools do one tradition well and the others poorly.
- A practitioner who has read enough charts to write the karaka mapping. The theme-matching layer is where calibration earns its keep — and it can’t be generated. It comes from 10,000+ readings where the practitioner watched which significators actually surfaced for each kind of life event. AI cannot fabricate this; it has to be lived.
- A user willing to bring their own events. Co-Star and The Pattern personalize on demographics + chart; they can’t personalize on outcome history because they don’t collect it. We do — under user consent — and we never sell or share it.
