Reading the table

  • Format: degree + sign abbreviation. 15Le = 15° Leo.
  • ℞ = retrograde — the planet appears to move backwards through the zodiac that day.
  • highlighted = station day, the moment a planet stops and reverses direction (or vice versa). The most-watched single days in any month.

Common questions

About the ephemeris

What is an ephemeris?

A table of planetary positions over time. The classical paper ephemeris (Raphael's, Rosicrucian, Swiss Ephemeris) lists each planet's longitude on each day of the year — the working tool astrologers use to plan elections, time transits, and check past or future configurations. This page reproduces that data live from arcsecond-grade ephemerides.

Why noon UT?

The classical convention. The slow planets (Jupiter through Pluto) barely move in 12 hours, so noon-sampling captures their position for the whole day with negligible error. The Moon moves ~6.5° in 12 hours (about a quarter of a sign), so the Moon column is most accurate at noon UT specifically — for an exact Moon position at any moment in your local time, use the Sky Map tool.

How do I read each cell?

Each cell shows the planet's degree-in-sign and the sign abbreviation. "15Le" = 15° Leo. The ℞ marker means retrograde — the planet appears to move backwards through the zodiac on that day. Sign-changes (ingresses) appear as a transition between two adjacent cells; the exact ingress moment is in our Sky Now or Lunar Calendar pages.

Why are some cells highlighted?

We highlight the day each planet first appears retrograde or first turns direct in the displayed month — the stations. These are the most-watched days in any month: a planet's station is when it's stopped relative to the stars, and astrologers read the station as a focused activation of the planet's themes for the week or two surrounding it.

How accurate is this?

Arcsecond. We use VSOP87D for the planets and a truncated ELP2000 lunar model with deltaT correction. Same engine that computes the free Birth Chart, Sky Map, and Transit Forecast. Time-zone is UT (universal time); convert to your local time-zone if you need a same-day local read.

Can I use this to plan elections?

Yes — the daily ephemeris is the working table for Hellenistic and modern Western election work. Pair with the Muhurta tool (Vedic auspicious-time scoring), the Choghadiya page (Vedic time windows), and the Lunar Calendar (Moon phases + sign-ingresses) for a full election workflow.

Computation

Each cell is a live engine call cached for 24 hours: VSOP87D for Mercury–Neptune, an in-house DOPRI8 8(7) integrator for Pluto, and a truncated ELP2000 lunar model with deltaT correction for the Moon. Sub-arcsecond accurate. Sampled at 12:00 UT. Retrograde flags come from the engine’s direction-of-motion check, not a calendar approximation; station days are detected from adjacent-day flag flips.
