Magenta Candle
The accelerator — this is the candle you add to other workings to make them move faster.
Overview
Magenta is a specialty color. Most practitioners do not stock it because it does not show up in every basic correspondence list. But once you know what it does, you keep one on hand. Magenta's primary function is acceleration. It does not have a domain of its own the way green does for money or pink does for love — it is a force multiplier that you add to other workings to speed them up.
Hoodoo and Southern Conjure traditions are where magenta comes alive. It is understood as a high-spirit color, meaning it moves energy fast and effectively. If a spell is working but moving slowly, burn a magenta candle alongside it. If you have been working on something for months with no visible change, magenta can crack through stagnation. It is the candle for "I need this yesterday."
How to dress & anoint
Dress magenta candles with high-vibration oils — frankincense, rose, or van van oil if you can source it. Roll in dragon's blood resin for maximum acceleration. If you are adding it to an existing working, dress it with whatever oil you used on the original spell candle so the energies align.
Burn guidance
Always burn magenta candles alongside another candle representing the specific goal. On its own, magenta has nothing to accelerate. Light the goal candle first, then light magenta from the goal candle's flame. Burn both simultaneously for 30-60 minutes. Magenta burns fast and intensely — by design.
Reading the flame
Magenta flames naturally burn tall and active. A wildly dancing flame means acceleration is working. If your goal candle suddenly burns higher after you light magenta next to it, the amplification is successful. A weak magenta flame usually means your base working has an unresolved conflict — fix that first.

Frequently asked questions
Can I burn a magenta candle by itself?
You can, but you should not expect much. Magenta has no inherent domain — it accelerates whatever energy is already present. Alone, it just amplifies your current state. Always pair it with a candle representing your actual goal.
Is magenta the same as hot pink or fuchsia?
Close enough for practical purposes. Magenta, fuchsia, and hot pink all occupy the same high-vibration accelerator niche. Pure magenta leans slightly more purple-violet than hot pink. If you can only find one, use what is available.
Why is magenta associated with Hoodoo specifically?
Hoodoo is one of the few traditions that formally recognizes magenta as a working color. European candle magic stuck mostly to primary and secondary colors. Hoodoo's synthesis of West African, Indigenous American, and European practices made room for specialty colors like magenta to take on functional roles.
How fast should I expect results with a magenta candle?
It depends on what you are accelerating. Workings that would have manifested in a month often land in a week. Workings with no grounded foundation still will not manifest — magenta does not create energy, it amplifies what you have set.
