How a practitioner reads it

The 11th-house lord (the planet ruling the gain-house) is placed in the 6th, 8th, or 12th and is afflicted; the 11th house itself is also occupied by malefics or aspected by malefics with no benefic offset.

What the daridra yoga is doing

Daridra (poverty) is the structural inverse of Dhana Yoga. Where Dhana describes the geometry of accumulation, Daridra describes the geometry of blocked gains: the 11th-house lord — the planet whose job is gain — is placed where it cannot deliver, and the 11th itself is afflicted.

The classical reading is chronic financial difficulty across the lifespan. Daridra people often describe the experience as 'money runs through their fingers' — they earn but cannot accumulate, or they accumulate but lose at unpredictable points, or the chart's gains never quite become the wealth they appeared to be.

The yoga is read alongside the rest of the chart's wealth indicators because Daridra alone is not necessarily destiny. Strong Dhana Yogas elsewhere can offset Daridra; weak supporting wealth indicators can deepen it. The classical advice is to acknowledge the structural pattern and undertake conscious financial discipline as the long-arc remedy.

When it works

Daridra worked consciously — early-career financial discipline, simplification, the relinquishment of conspicuous spending — can metabolise into a frugal but stable adult life.

When it’s blunted

Unaddressed Daridra tends to recur as financial crises across decades. The yoga is structural; pretending it is not present compounds the cost.
